AVON, CT — A fast-casual Mexican restaurant that arrived in Avon a little more than two years ago appears to have closed, with the business's assets now being marketed for sale on LoopNet.com.
Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill operated at 380 W. Main St. in Avon Marketplace, serving burritos, tacos, salads, and other Mexican-inspired fare.
The restaurant opened in March 2024, after celebrating its arrival at the West Main Street location.
Its path to Avon began in 2022, when the Avon Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved a special exception for the restaurant. Plans at the time called for an approximately 2,100-square-foot, 30-seat restaurant occupying part of a former Victoria's Secret location.
Now, a commercial real estate listing is advertising the restaurant operation at the site for $295,000.
The listing describes an asset sale involving a 2,169-square-foot, fully equipped fast-casual restaurant at 380 W. Main St. It includes the business assets, furniture, fixtures, and equipment, along with assignment of the existing lease, subject to landlord approval.
The listing says the operator is selling because it "needs to downsize operations."
The offering does not include ownership of the real estate.
According to the listing, an incoming operator would take over the lease, which includes two five-year renewal options.
The restaurant comes with a fully equipped commercial kitchen and dining room.
The space is part of Avon Marketplace, a Route 44 shopping center whose tenants include Starbucks, Ulta Beauty, New Balance, Playa Bowls and Max A Mia.
Salsa Fresca has other Connecticut locations, including restaurants in Danbury, Fairfield, Manchester, and Newington.
