AVON, CT — A portion of the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail in Avon will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 29, while crews conduct scheduled tree work.
The Avon Recreation and Parks Department said the closure will affect the trail between the Country Club Road crosswalk and the Scoville Road crosswalk.
The department's social media announcement described the work as scheduled tree removal, while a town notice accompanying the announcement referred to scheduled tree maintenance.
Trail users are being asked to plan an alternate route while the work is underway.
The town did not provide specific hours for the closure or say when the affected section is expected to reopen on Tuesday.
