Public Flu Shot Clinics Planned Across Farmington Valley In October

They will be in Avon, Canton, East Granby, Farmington, Granby, Hartland, New Hartford, and Simsbury.

Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Litchfield County will offer a series of public flu vaccination clinics in eight Connecticut towns throughout the Farmington Valley this fall, including three clinics in Avon.

The clinics are open on a walk-in basis, with no registration required for the Avon clinics.

Monday, Oct. 5: Farmington Senior Center, 321 New Britain Ave., Unionville — 1 to 3 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 5: East Granby Community Center, 20 Center St., East Granby — 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 6: Avon Senior Center, 635 West Avon Road, Avon — 1 to 3 p.m.

Accepted insurance plans listed on the clinic flyer include Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Medicare Part B, UnitedHealthcare Advantage for people over 65 and ConnectiCare.

For people paying out of pocket, the cost is $50 for a regular-dose vaccine for adults 18 and older and $100 for a high-dose vaccine for adults over 65. Cash and checks are accepted.
