AVON, CT — Playhouse 44 will present a new comedy, "The Elements of God," during three free performances at Avon Town Hall from Oct. 9-11.
The play follows Artie, a public relations manager at a small university who would rather be a writer.
Dissatisfied with his career, Artie also faces a boss ready to fire him, two college interns, and his feelings for his happily married co-worker, June.
The production will be staged in the Selectman's Chamber at Avon Town Hall, 60 West Main St., Building 1.

The play was written by Playhouse 44's Joel Samberg.
It is being called "a 'crabby comedy' about a frustrated public relations executive who gets the most unusual wake-up call in history."
The cast includes Paul Taylor of West Springfield, Massachusetts, as Artie; Phylecia Renae of Hartford County as June; Katie Wilson of Farmington as Allison; and Danny Zigmont, a recent Conard High School graduate and current Central Connecticut State University freshman, as Zach.
Taylor's acting credits include true crime programs, independent films, and dinner theater. Renae's recent stage work includes "The Vagina Monologues" and "A Streetcar Named Desire."
Wilson graduated from Smith College this spring and is also a prospective playwright and dramaturg.
Playhouse 44 is an Avon-based nonprofit community theater and performing arts organization.
