AVON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

• Eastern's annual graduation ceremony was held at the XL Center in Hartford on May 15, with more than 12,000 family members and friends cheering on their sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, as 1,105 undergraduates and 85 graduate students received their diplomas. Gabriella Zone of Avon graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Jared Rosenblatt of Avon graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Studies from Western New England University during the Saturday, May 19, 2018 commencement ceremonies. Rosenblatt was among more than 700 students who received degrees from 30 states and seven countries. The top five fields of study were Mechanical Engineering, Criminal Justice, Accounting, Pharmacy Studies, and Psychology.
