AVON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Roger Williams University, Bristol RI

• Four residents of Avon were among the 1,127 students who received their degrees in May as part of the Class of 2018: Jeffrey Demers, with a B.S. in Construction Mgmt.; Sean Janson , with a B.S. in Management; Madison Mains, with a B.A. in Elementary Education; and Olivia Smith, Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology.

St. Lawrence University, Canton NY

• Three students from Avon have been selected for inclusion on the Dean's List for academic achievement during the spring 2018 semester at St. Lawrence University. They are Sydney E. Chatfield, a member of the Class of 2019 who is majoring in neuroscience; Jenny L. Henneberry, a member of the Class of 2021; and Stephen P. Dorney, a member of the Class of 2019 who is majoring in economics-mathematics. To be eligible for the Dean's List, a student must have completed at least four courses and have an academic average of 3.6 based on a 4.0 scale for the semester.

Wheaton College, Wheaton IL

• Wheaton College congratulates May 2018 graduate Carlye Renee Poff of Avon, who graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Spanish.
