Avon Is All In On National Library Week

AVON, CT — The Avon Free Public Library is going all out for National Library Week, which starts Saturday, April 6, and continues to Saturday, April 13.

The week-long celebration is sponsored by the Friends of the Avon Library.

There are several unique programs at the library in the next week, and those interested are encouraged to register for as many as possible.

Scheduled events include:

• (In-Person) Talking Transportation with Jim Cameron Saturday, April 6, 2 to 3:30 pm / Community Room.

• (Virtual Event) Edith Halpert and the Rise of American Art, Monday, April 8, 2 to 3 p.m. / Zoom.

• (Virtual Event) DNA and Its Use in Genealogical Research, Tuesday, April 9, 2 to 3:30 p.m. / Zoom.

• (In-Person) Make Mine Murder: Connecticut Crime Writers Panel, Tuesday, April 9, 7 to 8 p.m. / Community Room.

• (Virtual Event) Unearthing History: 2024 Virtual Lecture No. 2: Bioarchaeology in North America Thursday, April 11, 7 to 8:30 p.m. / Zoom.

• (In-Person Event) The Busy Body: Author Event with Kemper Donovan, Friday, April 12, 1 to 2 p.m. / Community Room.

• (In-Person Event) The Modern Art of War: Sun Tzu’s Hidden Path to Peace and Wholeness/Author Event with Hunter Liguore Saturday, April 13, 1 to 2 p.m. / Community Room.
