Avon Art Association's Monthly Meeting and Artist Demo

The Avon Arts Association will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday June 16, 2015 at 7:00 pm in Avon Town Hall, 60 West Main St. building #1. Artist, Christine Ivers, will demonstrate techniques using pastels. The artwork of Ivers has been described as vibrant and textural with dynamic light. The effects she can achieve run the gamut between high contrast and a gentle softness that brings to life the paintings that she creates. From the contrasts of darkness and glowing lights in what she calls her “Nightscapes,” to the subtle play of colors filtered through nature’s atmosphere in her landscape paintings, Chris paints with a freedom that is easily seen in the strokes of pastel as well as her oils.
