Avon Arts Association's Annual Spring Show

Come enjoy the work of many local award winning artists in this annual exhibition.

The Avon Arts Association is happy to announce the upcoming opening of its annual Spring Members’ Show. Original artwork from many of its talented members will be on display at the Simsbury Library Program Room from June 3 thru 30. This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain work from local artists, as most of the artwork will be available for purchase. Comments from visitors last year included: “incredible artwork!”, “great program”, “what a creative community!”. The public is invited to a reception with the artists on Sunday, June 12, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, where refreshments will be served.
Our annual arts scholarship awards for local high school students will also be presented at that time. Students from Avon, Canton, Farmington, Granby and Simsbury High Schools were invited to submit work, which was then juried by members of the Association. Last year, over $3,000 was awarded to students demonstrating excellence in their art.
Regular library hours are Mon-Thurs, 9:30-8:30, Fri-Sat, 9:30-5:30, Sun, 1-5. Avon Arts Association wishes to thank Simsbury Library for again graciously hosting our exhibit. Please contact Dorothy Dumond at 860-653-3375 for more information about this year’s show.
The Avon Arts Association has been promoting visual arts in the Avon area since 1959 by holding art exhibits, demonstrations, and workshops, and by providing college scholarships for qualified high school art students in the Farmington Valley.
