Avon Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent

Several standout scholar-athletes are heading to big-time universities next fall.

Four senior athletes from Avon High School signed National Letters of Intent to play Division I/II sports in college on February 3.

In front of family, teammates and friends, football players Teddy Allmendinger, Geoff Kirk and Andrew Blackmore were honored by the team’s offensive coach, Clay Hillyer, for being leaders on the field and in the classroom. They will play, respectively, at the University of Connecticut, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and Assumption College.

Soccer standout Riley Strassner was honored by Coach Dave Zlatin for his contributions to the Falcon soccer team; he will play for the Georgetown Hoyas this fall.

Earlier this school year, Avon basketball star Abby Laczewski signed her NLI to play basketball at the University of Wisconsin.
