Avon Booster Club Sponsoring Informational Forum on Playing Sports in College

AVON, CT — The Avon Booster Club is sponsoring a forum for student-athletes in grades 7 through 12 and their parents called "So You Want To Play Sports In College."

The forum is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at Avon High School.

Any student who has even a slight interest in collegiate sports is invited to attend.

The event is free and open to the public and will feature a panel that includes two college coaches, a college athletic director, two college athletes and one high school coach. It is designed to be an opportunity for students and parents to learn fact from myth, to hear honest first-hand experiences, and to ask their own questions of the experts.

Attendees will leave the forum understanding what playing in college takes and what it means, organizers said.
