Avon Budget Meeting, Referendum Scheduled
Town residents can voice opinions about the budget and vote on it in May.

Avon residents will get a chance to voice opinions about the proposed town budget at the annual town meeting held May 4.
The budget proposal calls for a three percent spending bump and a tax increase of 1.69 percent, according to the Hartford Courant.

Residents can vote on the proposal on May 13. Nine percent of town residents must participate in the referendum to make it binding, otherwise the budget is automatically adopted.
The entire budget recommendation is $86.4 million.
