Avon Budget Process Heats Up Starting Monday, April 1
A public hearing on proposed town spending — and the likely tax impact — will take place Monday night, April 1.

AVON, CT — The process to decide the town's fiscal future — and how much taxpayers will pay this year — is unfolding in earnest starting next week.
Town officials have unveiled an updated budget timeline toward completion with residents/taxpayers in town able to comment on the 2024-25 proposed spending plans Monday, April 1.

Key dates for the rest of the budget season are:
• The annual budget public hearing regarding the proposed town/school budget will be held at the Avon Free Public Library, 281 Country Club Road, in the community room on Monday, April 1, at 7 p.m.

The hearing will also be available to watch remotely via live stream.
Before the hearing, virtual access instructions will be available on the town’s website. Public comments must be made in person at the library.
• The Avon Board of Finance budget workshop will be held at the library in the community room on Wednesday, April 3, at 7 p.m.

•The annual budget meeting will be held at the Avon Free Public Library Community Room on Monday, May 6, at 7 p.m.

Electors or taxpayers wishing to provide spoken comments during the meeting must attend in person at the library.
There will be no opportunity for the virtual audience to comment.
• Voters will decide the budgets at the budget referendum scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center, 635 West Avon Road.
