Avon/Canton Lawmaker Gets Good Environmental Score
State Rep. Eleni Kavros DeGraw, D – Avon, was commended by the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters.

AVON, CT — State Rep. Eleni Kavros DeGraw, D – Avon, has received a 100 percent on the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters' 2022 Environmental Scorecard.
The scorecard aims to hold lawmakers accountable for their positions on issues related to the environment and focuses on priorities for the next session.
"Climate scientists continue to remind us that we are running out of time to prevent the most drastic consequences to our planet. We have to look no further than the three recent heat waves to know we are at a tipping point. This session, I was proud to take a strong stance on climate change and pass legislation that works to improve the air we breathe, the water we drink, and transition to a zero-carbon energy grid," said Kavros DeGraw, who serves the 17th House District towns of Avon and Canton.

The CTLCV works with environmental organizations to identify and track important bills in producing the scorecard.
CTLCV scored lawmakers on several bills, including those addressing the need for clean air, climate change mitigation, tree removal and wildlife and bird protection measures, among other issues.
