Avon To Celebrate Community Grant Recipients
The reception will take place at the Avon Free Public Library Wednesday evening.
AVON, CT – A local committee will unveil and celebrate nine organizations benefitting from a grant program this year just for local causes and the public is invited to celebrate.
Avon’s Greater Together Community Fund (AGTCF) Advisory Committee is asking the public to attend a gathering celebrating nine recent grant recipients and their work.
The free reception will be hosted by the Avon Greater Together Community Fund, recognizing the work of recent grant recipients and the Avon Free Public Library staff.

It will take place Wednesday, Oct. 18, in the Avon Free Public Library’s Community Room, 281 Country Club Road, Avon, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Attendees will hear from members of the committee, meet the most recent grant recipients, and enjoy conversation, networking, and live piano music played by an Avon High School student.

The committee will also debut a video featuring each of the nine grant recipients and their work. Light refreshments will be served.
To date, the Avon Greater Together Community Fund has distributed $70,000 to 15 local nonprofits benefiting Avon.
“We are thrilled to host this second event honoring our latest round of grant recipients, all of whom are doing great work to meet differing needs in our community,” said Avon Community Fund Advisory Committee Chair Haleigh Guerrera.
“We hope this October event will help build bridges between non-profits and members of our community, open doors of cooperation, and inspire new ideas of working together to make Avon an even more wonderful place to live and work.”
In 2019, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving established $100,000 endowed Community Funds for each of the 29 towns in the foundation’s region, which includes the Town of Avon.
