Avon Church's 'First Friday' Meal Promises To Be Festive

Reservations are being accepted for the monthly meal, with December's event having a more yuletide atmosphere.

AVON, CT — A local church's regular monthly community dinner program this week promises to be so festive, the word is actually in the event's name.

The Avon Congregational Church on Friday, Dec. 1, will host "Festive First Friday," part of the church's regular First Friday meals that take place on the first Friday of every month.

The church, located at 6 W. Main St., Avon, will serve "a sumptuous meal of glazed roast pork with New England herbed stuffing."

Finishing the feast are roasted veggies, hot buttered rolls, a winter salad with maple vinaigrette, and a chocolate Christmas dessert.

Even better, one complimentary glass of red or white wine (or soft drink) is included.

For entertainment, there will be Christmas carols on the piano with friendly fellowship to help usher in the season.
