Avon Church's Monthly Dinner Promises Warmth This Week
The Avon Congregational Church's 'First Friday' dinner this week has a beloved, stick-to-your-ribs main dish on the menu.

AVON, CT — Enjoy a little community and culinary warmth on a cold night this week at the Avon Congregational Church's monthly "First Friday Dinner."
The next First Friday Dinner is at the 6 W. Main St. church on Feb. 6 from 5:30 to 7 p.m., with folks able to dine in or take out.
"We know life is busy, but to live well, we must eat well," wrote the church in an announcement. "Come meet new friends from all over the Farmington Valley for a family favorite, Shepherd’s Pie with traditional meat or a vegan version with assorted vegetables."

This month's hearty entrée is served with a tossed salad with house-made vinaigrette, garlic bread, and the church's famous dessert buffet.
Includes coffee and tea as well, to complete the dining experience.

The cost is $20 each. No reservations necessary.
