Help Avon's Needy Eat This Holiday Season, What You Need To Know

AVON, CT — The opportunity to say "stuff it" to local police will be met this Saturday with smiles and good cheer.

That's because the Avon Police Department is hosting a "Stuff-a-Cruiser" event Saturday, Dec. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Prince Thomas of Savoy club, 32 Old Farms Road, Avon.

There, generous folks can enjoy the Christmas lights and holiday spirit and donate to help their community.

The APD and Prince Thomas of Savoy are looking for non-perishable food items to stock up the Avon Food Pantry so folks in need do not go hungry.

Items suggested for this particular event include cereal, tuna fish, pasta, peanut better, jellies/jams, juices/juice boxes, bottled water, spaghetti sause, canned fruit (except pineapple), granola bars and cookies.

Meanwhile, folks can stop and take pictures with Sant Claus and other Christmas characters at the event, which will also feature the Avon Volunteer Fire Department's decorated firetruck, which can be photographed with guests.
