
AVON, CT — School starts Monday, Aug. 29, meaning there is less than a month left of summer in Avon.
With that big day coming up fast, the town is hosting a school supply collection drive for folks to donate in time for back-to-school.
The drive will take place Monday, Aug. 8, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center, 635 West Avon Road.

The event is sponsored by Avon Social Services, Avon Youth Services and the Avon Senior Center.
Traditional schools supplies like pens, paper, rulers, pencils, etc. are sought and they'll be distributed to children who need them in time for classes to resume.
