Avon Eagle Scout Constructs Informational Kiosk

Zachary Bortoff, an Eagle Scout with Troop 274 in Avon, recently completed an informational kiosk on Simsbury Road in front of the Avon Board of Education building.

The two-sided kiosk presents the history of Avon Town Center, including the Farmington Canal, Canal Railroad and two Towpath Schools, and the 1949 cupola seen in the background.

Guidance was provided by the Avon Board of Education and the Avon Historical Society.
