Avon Falcons Win for Wounded Veterans
The Falcons football team defeated Rockville, but the real winners were the game proceeds beneficiaries, the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Avon High School football team played their hearts out for wounded veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The Falcons dominated the field, beating Rockville 41-12 in front of an enthusiastic crowd that included fellow students, families and local veterans.
Proceeds from the game’s ticket and concession sales will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, which provides resources and programs to support the unique needs of service members returning home with physical or psychological injuries.
