Avon Family Dentistry welcomes Dr. Eric Ruiz

Dr. Eric Ruiz has joined the staff of Avon Family Dentistry, Inc. Located at 44 Dale Road, Avon, the business was established in 1990 when Dr. Sheldon Hausman and Dr. Collin Sanford merged their individual practices. A third dentist, Dr. A. Liam Doran, came on board in 2004.

Like Hausman and Sanford before him, Ruiz was on the faculty of the UConn School of Dental Medicine. During his seven years as a clinical assistant professor, he also served as director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program and treated patients at University Dentists.

Ruiz is a member of the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, Hartford Dental Society and Academy of General Dentistry. He lives in Farmington with his wife, Meghan, and their three children.

“We are thrilled to have such a highly qualified, well trained dentist join our staff of dentists, hygienists, assistants and front office professionals,” Hausman said regarding Ruiz.

Prior to founding Avon Family Dentistry, Dr. Hausman practiced in Unionville starting in 1980 and Dr. Sanford opened his practice in Avon in 1983. Dr. Doran joined them after completion of his residency. All three doctors have repeatedly been recognized as “Top Dentists” in Connecticut Magazine and/or Hartford Magazine.
