Avon FD Hosting Meeting On Fire Station Modernization Project
Residents can meet with volunteer firefighters Oct. 1 to learn about and ask questions about the town's proposed fire facilities project.
AVON, CT — Avon residents will have an opportunity Thursday night to learn more about a proposed project to modernize the town's fire facilities and ask questions of local volunteer firefighters.
The Avon Volunteer Fire Department will host an information session at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, at AVFD Company No. 1, 25 Darling Drive.
The session will focus on the proposed project to "modernize and right-size" Avon's fire facilities, according to the town's announcement.

Residents will be able to meet department members, participate in a discussion with volunteer firefighters and ask questions about the proposal.
The town is encouraging residents to review a newsletter recently mailed to Avon homes and additional background materials available on the town's website before attending.

No decision on the proposed project is announced in the notice.
The town said public input will be considered as the Avon Town Council weighs next steps in the coming months.
