Avon Fire Department Issues Warning On Scam

The department says a fundraising scam has been popping up again.

AVON, CT - Residents have been receiving phone calls from an phony organization called the "Volunteer Firefighters Association."

The Fire Department has warned that these calls are part of a scam. The calls state that envelopes for donations will be arriving in residents' mailboxes in the near future and that they should support their local firefighters.

The Avon Volunteer Fire Department does not make phone calls asking for donations and is not affiliated with the organization making the calls.
