Avon Fire Truck Becomes Magic Carpet for Stranded Bride and Groom

The ride to the reception became a little more stylish after a vehicle fire.

AVON, CT — The carriage ride to bride and groom's wedding reception over the weekend was arguably much more exciting after the original mode of transportation caught fire.

It was Saturday afternoon when members of the Avon Volunteer Fire Department received a call about a "bus fire" at the Avon Congregational Church, fire officials said.

On arrival, crews found a trolley bus with an engine compartment fire, which was put out with a fire extinguisher the bus driver had, officials said.
