Avon Firefighters Rescue Kitten From Storm Drain
The incident was on Sunday, fire officials said.
AVON, CT — Avon firefighters saved a kitten from a storm drain on Sunday evening.
The distress call came in just before 6 p.m. on Sunday, fire officials said in a Facebook post. A kitten was discovered in a storm drain in the CVS parking lot, fire officials said.
Firefighter Elizabeth DiPace went into the storm drain, rescued the kitten and handed it over to Capt. Ramona Mansfield.

The captain then comforted the kitten for a bit and placed it in a box set up with a blanket, fire officials said.
