Avon Girls Lacrosse Plays For the Cure

Tomorrow, Wednesday May 7th, the Avon High School Girls Lacrosse teams will Play4theCure to raise money for cancer research. The Varsity and JV teams will join 600+ teams from across the country to partner with the National Foundation for Cancer Research and raise money for NFCR. Every girl has been touched by cancer in some way, and Play4theCure is a good way to meaningfully help the cause.

The Falcons will play against downstate rivals, Joel Barlowe High School at 5:00 (varsity) and 6:30 (junior varsity).  Admission is free, but players will be collecting voluntary donations at the gates and in the stands.  In addition, the girls will sell refreshments, baked goods and pink Play4theCure wristbands for $2.00 each.

Both teams will be wearing pink, the color associated with breast cancer, which afflicts more women than any other cancer.  The Joel Barlowe girls will wear pink jerseys and the Avon girls will sport pink socks and headbands - additional pink headbands will be sold at the game.
