Goodwill is hiring.
Goodwill of Western & Northern Connecticut on Thursday announced that it is hosting a "hiring event" for its retail store and donation location in Avon on April 27.

The job fair will be at the store - 260 West Main St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We are seeking motivated individuals for a variety of positions for our Avon location,” said Vickie L. Volpano, President & CEO, Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut. “We’re looking for qualified team members that will become part of the Goodwill family, and that will bring enthusiasm and dedication to our mission.”

Open positions are:
Unit Manager & Assistant Manager
· High school graduate or equivalent with courses in Business and Marketing.
· Two years’ experience in a management/supervisory capacity or equivalent.
· Able to supervise and train in shipping/receiving functions, stock duties, merchandising, cashiering and customer service.
· Willing to travel and relocate.
· Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend and reach.
· Must be able to lift over 40 pounds.
Shift Supervisor:
· High school graduate or the equivalent.
· One year experience in retail sales performing cashiering, customer service, display, shipping/receiving and inventory duties.
· Ability to lead and direct staff.
· Ability to operate cash register, perform stock duties and provide customer service.
Retail Associate
· Be 16 years of age or older.
· Must be able to communicate in English.
· Have excellent customer service skills.
· Be able to lift over 40 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
Have flexibility in availability including ability to work days, evenings, and weekends as necessary, especially if full-time schedule is desired.
