Avon Gridders Playing For a Cause
Proceeds from Saturday's game against Rockville will benefit a special group of veterans.

When the Avon High School football team assembles for its November 7 home game against Rockville, it will be for a cause, not just a win.
Beginning with a 2 p.m. kick-off, the Falcons will be playing in support of U.S. Veterans who have been wounded in service.

All proceeds from ticket sales, concessions and donation boxes will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/.
The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) believes that the greatest casualty of war is being forgotten. As such, they provide direct programs and services to meet the unique needs of service members who return home having sustained a physical or mental injury during their post-9/11 service.

With advancements in battlefield medicine and body armor, an unprecedented number of service members are surviving severe wounds or injuries. In fact, the relative rate at which soldiers return home wounded from Afghanistan and Iraq is four times higher than from World Wars I and II. The WWP makes sure these service men and women get the help they need and deserve.
Please help our Avon football players help the Wounded Warrior Project.
Come to the game on Saturday, November 7, 2 p.m. at AHS.
