An Avon nursing home was fined more than $1,000 after a resident died.
The resident died in March six days after falling out of a mechanical lift and sling at the Avon Health Center, according to the Connecticut Health Investigation Team, a non-profit dedicated to issues of health and safety in the state.
A state Department of Public Health investigation revealed that the nursing home didn’t follow proper procedures. A spokesman for the company said not all of the state findings were agreed upon.
