Avon High School Indoor Track Athletes Qualify for States

AVON, CT — Several members of the Avon High School indoor track team have posted numbers good enough to qualify for state competition later this winter.

The boys and girls Class M meet will be held Feb. 9 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven. The State Open will also take place there on Feb. 18.

Falcons who have already qualified for the class meet are:

BOYS

• 55 meters - Zach Tilsch, 7.07
• 55 hurdles - Blake Thompson, 8.71
• 600 meters - Zach Bortoff, 1:30.13; Jack Stokesbury, 1:33.75
• 1,000 meters - Zach Bortoff, 2:45.98; Jack Stokesbury, 2:50.53
• long jump - Zach Tilsch, 18-10.5
• 4 x 200 relay, 1:44.38
• 4 x 800 relay, 8:47.70

GIRLS

• 55 hurdles - Hayley Dougela, 10.09
