Avon High Winter Athletes Make Hartford’s All-Courant teams

The Hartford Courant sports editors were impressed enough with Avon High School’s winter athletes this year to give one a spot on the prestigious All-Courant team, and award eight honorable mentions.

Sophomore swimmer Riley Strassner was awarded the All-Courant honors for his Class M winning performance in the 200 freestyle event.  His team mates Billy Holloman and Kyle Emery won honorable mentions.

Other All-Courant honorable mentions were: Abby Laszewski, Anna Schrecengost and Olivia Welter (girls basketball); Sean Herrmann and Patrick McKearney (boys basketball); and Nick Sanderson from the Avon/Farmington/Windsor co-op ice hockey team.
