Avon Historical Society Leader Wins Major Civic Award
The Avon Chapter of UNICO National recently presented the 27th annual Avon Citizen of the Year Award.
AVON, CT — The head of the local historical society recently received a major award from a prominent local civic organization.
According to the Avon Historical Society, the Avon Chapter of UNICO National in November presented the 27th annual Avon Citizen of the Year Award to Terri Wilson, who is president of the Avon Historical Society.
"Wilson’s acceptance speech was a lively local history lesson as well as an update on the progress of the new Avon History Museum scheduled to open on July 4, 2025," wrote the historical society in an announcement.

Posing for a picture posted on social media with Wilson was the owner of Beanz & Co. Café Kim Morrison, the 2023 Avon Citizen of the Year winner, and Jim Fanelli, past president of Avon UNICO and the 2017 Avon Citizen of the Year.
