Fancy Table Settings Key To Avon Historical Society Event
The society is hosting 'Tablescapes 2024,' a two-day event in March where setting the table is art. The deadline to register is Jan. 31.

AVON, CT — The clock is ticking this month to sign up for one of the Avon Historical Society's biggest fund-raising events.
The Avon Historical Society is inviting all decorators, designers, florists, and others to
participate in "Tablescapes 2024," which is March 15-16. The deadline to sign up is Jan. 31.

Tablescapes will take place from 10 to 5 p.m. at the historic North House, 1 Nod Road, Avon.
This unique event — which is a mix of dinner planning, landscaping, and art — is an opportunity to create and display place settings of various themes for the public to enjoy.

It is open to anyone to show off their skill in table settings, fresh floral arrangements and centerpieces.
The creations will be set on one of 30 five-foot round tables in the Belle Ballroom of the historic North House at the bottom of Avon Mountain on the corner of Route 44 and Nod Road.
There is no cost to join us, however a theme must be submitted before the event.
Prizes will be awarded to the top four creations voted on by attendees.
The society encourages individuals or groups to participate.
Tablescapes 2024 will support the ongoing renovations of what will become the Avon History
Museum, 8 E. Main St., later this year.
