Avon History Podcast Explores The Avon Volunteer FD

AVON, CT —The latest edition of the Avon Historical Society's "Avon Talks" local history podcast will look at an all-volunteer agency in town charged with saving lives and property.

The Avon Volunteer Fire Department, with its four stations and almost 200 members, is a completely volunteer-based organization serving the town’s needs for over half a century.

Joining the podcast for this episode to discuss the history and development of the AVFD are Avon Fire Chief Bruce Appell and AVFD board member James DiPace.
