Avon To Host Earth Day Clean-Up This Weekend At Local Trail

Volunteers are invited, with tools requested, as bags will be provided and free vests available.

AVON, CT — Local organizations are inviting residents to take part in an Earth Day town-wide clean-up scheduled for Saturday, April 25, with a rain date of April 26.

Volunteers will meet at 9 a.m. at the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail near the Avon Department of Public Works, 11 Arch Road.

Participants are asked to bring gloves, rakes, and other tools. Bags will be provided to assist with collection efforts.

The event is hosted by Bike Walk Avon CT, Farmington Valley Trails Council, and the Avon Recreation and Parks Department.

Organizers also plan to distribute free safety vests during the event.
