Avon Hosting Plastic Ocean Pollution Forum
The free program will take place on Monday, Sept. 30, at the local library.
AVON, CT — A program on the scourge of plastics pollution will take place Monday at the Avon Free Public Library.
The event will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, at the library, which is located at 281 Country Club Road, Avon.
"Do you know where plastic comes from? Nearly 80% of marine debris comes from land-based sources," wrote the library in an event announcement.

Guests will be able to learn about how plastic affects the ocean, marine environment, and animals.
A representative from The North American Marine Environment Protection Association will host the program.
