AVON, CT — Imagine, if you will, being 13 and idolizing a pop star.
It's not a common scenario, with pop music idols ranging from Elvis to David Cassidy to the Jonas Brothers, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift, inspiring teens for generations.
But Avon High School graduate Olivia Levin has taken that to another level, transforming her love of Taylor Swift and her music into a successful living in the social media landscape.

Levin's first book, "The Story of Us: How the Taylor Swift Fandom Changed Our Lives," comes out on Tuesday, April 14, and it details both her rise in the Taylor Swift influencer universe and the sensation that Swift and her army of "Swifties" have become.
Published by Simon & Schuster, her 256-page book — named after Swift's 2010 hit single — is available at most bookstores.
Now living in the same city (Nashville, Tenn.) where Swift herself cut her musical teeth as a rising country star in the late 2000s, Levin's Avon roots prepped her for her unique career.
She graduated in 2018 from Avon High, where she played soccer, tennis, and was on the National Honor Society.
That led her to a communications degree from Fairfield University in 2022.
Since then, Levin has been working on social media and in the digital world, first working in marketing/publicity before going on her own in the content creator field.
Here's how her publisher describes what Levin has done:
"Recognized by USA TODAY as one of the biggest Taylor Swift social media influencers, Olivia now blends her love of music and fandom culture with entrepreneurial ventures in entertainment and media. Based in Nashville, she continues to connect communities, support artists, and create opportunities that bridge the gap between fans and the music industry."
As for the book itself, it is as much about Swift fans as it is about Swift herself.
In it, Levin recounts her early Swifty days and her path toward a career that has resulted in her avocation becoming her vocation.
Here's how Levin puts it on her author page for Simon & Schuster:
"We've had the time of our lives as Swifties, and now that story, full of boundless joy, unexpected friendships, cherished memories, and wild theories, lives in this celebration of our fandom, and the reason we're all here: Taylor Swift.
"We all know how it started: A teenage girl from Pennsylvania moved to Nashville and rose to the top of the country music charts. In 2006, Taylor Swift’s story began—and with it, so did ours as Swifties."
"The Story of Us is a heartfelt journey through Swiftie history, capturing the evolution of a fandom that has stood the test of time. Told through the lens of personal experiences, this book chronicles the rise of a fandom that has remained fiercely loyal through every era. "
