Avon Interns Sought For Summer Sustainability Project

The Avon Clean Energy Commission is seeking local students to spend time this summer studying invasive plants and vegetable gardens.

AVON, CT — The Avon Clean Energy Commission has a unique summer internship opportunity available for volunteers interested in sustainability and/or horticulture.

The commission is seeking high school, college, or gap-year students interested in spending six weeks learning from local experts about native and invasive plants, as well as vegetable gardening.

Open to Avon residents, the internship is unpaid, but it is seen as a good resume/college application-boosting activity that could pay off professionally down the road.

In addition, interns can work independently for 20-25 hours on assignments related to local plant identification, eradication, and planting.
