Avon Land Trust Hosts Fall Hike

The hike is scheduled for Oct. 18

On Saturday, October 18th, the Avon Land Trust will host its annual Fall Leaf-Peeping Hike along its own beautiful Skyline Trail to the peak of Talcott Mountain. The hike is 1+ miles each way, with some steep portions, and offers breathtaking ridge views. Hikers can join in the fun at the top, where the Heublein ‘Tower Toot’ festival will be underway. Refreshments, courtesy of the land trust, will be served at the conclusion of the hike.Avon hikers and outdoor enthusiasts of all ages are encouraged to attend. Hikers should be in good health, and dressed in shoes with thick, treaded soles. Leashed dogs are welcome, too. ALT leaders and hike participants will meet at 1:00 p.m. on Hazen Road, off of Woodford Hills Rd. Please park on the right.
