Avon Library To Explore Meditation
The Avon Free Public Library May 18 will host a Stanford University professor virtually for a program on the benefits of meditation.

AVON, CT — The Avon Free Public Library is hosting a virtual program next week that will heal folks both physically and spiritually.
Dr. Manish Saggar, an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine, has been practicing meditation for many years.

At a virtual event hosted by the library Thursday, May 18, he will discuss how meditation can improve our physical and mental health. The program starts at 7 p.m.
"This evening you will have a chance to practice this simple technique that can reduce stress, enhance relaxation and promote inner growth," reads a library announcement of the program.
