Avon Man Charged After Crash
The Avon man is due in Manchester Superior Court later this month, according to police.
AVON, CT — An Avon man is accused of hitting a pedestrian with his vehicle and leaving the scene, according to police.
Kulwant Singh, 75, turned himself in at police headquarters Tuesday on an active arrest warrant, police said.
The charges stem from a May 2026 incident near 1451 Ellington Road. Police said Singh was driving when he struck the left arm of a pedestrian who was walking on the side of the road.

The pedestrian suffered a minor injury, according to police.
Investigators determined Singh knew he had struck the pedestrian but did not stop to check on him, police said.

Singh was charged with evading responsibility and failure to exercise care to avoid a pedestrian, police said.
He was processed and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond. Singh is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Monday, July 27.
