Avon Moves Into Top 10 of Girls Volleyball Poll

The Falcons won 13 of their first 15 outings this season.

RHAM continues to set the pace in Connecticut high school girls volleyball, receiving 26 of 28 first-place votes in the latest weekly coaches poll.

The Sachems (14-0), one of two undefeated teams remaining in the state, have not lost a single set the entire season.

Avon (13-2) moved into the top 10 in the most recent balloting.

Here are the top 10, plus all other schools receiving votes, with records through Oct. 17:

  3. Ridgefield (10-2)
  4. Killingly (15-1)
  5. St. Joseph (14-1)
  6. Southington (11-2)
  7. Lyman Memorial (14-1)
  8. Farmington (11-2)
  9. Torrington (15-1)
  10. Avon (13-2)
    10. Woodstock Academy (12-3)

Also receiving votes: Coventry (13-1), Guilford (16-1), Joel Barlow (15-1), Greenwich (15-1).
