Avon Nurse Disciplined For Patient's Death
An Avon nurse's license is on probation following the death of a patient in 2017.

AVON, CT - The state Board of Examiners for Nursing this week disciplined eight nurses recently, including an Avon nurse whose license will be put on probation for a year, according to Connecticut Health I-Team. The report said that records show Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Marcia Guerry failed to follow a patient’s advanced directive in a 2017 incident that resulted in a patient's death at a West Hartford nursing home, The Reservoir.
Guerry failed to properly perform or continue CPR on a patient, a consent order she agreed to said. Both Guerry and a New Britain nurse also working at the same facility did not contest the allegations, according to the report.
In addition to the license probation, both nurses have been ordered to take courses in advanced directives.
