Avon Obituary: Ann Tilson, 87

Ann (Jenney) Tilson, 87, of Avon, beloved wife of the late Barnard "Buck" Tilson, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017.

Born in Lexington, MA, daughter of the late Thacher and Phyllis ( MacDougal) Jenney, she had lived in Avon since 1954. Ann served as Republican Registrar of Voters for the Town of Avon from 1965-2000 and was a Justice of the Peace. She was a member of the Avon Women's Club, Friends of the Avon Library, and a former member of the Avon Playmakers. Ann enjoyed antiquing, needlework, and dogs.

She leaves her daughter Jenney T. Rivard and her husband Rene (Skip) of Rocky Hill; a son Stephen B. Tilson and his wife Margaret of Torrington; four grandchildren Lisa Hogan and her husband Michael of Naugatuck, Jeremie Tilson and his wife Bonnie of Torrington, Sarah Rivard of Arvada CO, Emily Rivard and her husband Andrew Pryor of Westminster CO, and great grandchildren Jillian Kalmin; Scott Kalmin, and Max Tilson.

Her family will receive friends Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10-11 am at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon followed by a Memorial Service at 11 am. A reception will follow the service. Burial will be in West Avon Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
