Avon Obituary: Dominick Pirro, 97

Condolences to his family and friends.

Dominick Pirro, 97, of Avon, beloved husband of the late Anna O. Pirro, died Friday, November 3, at McLean Home in Simsbury.

Born in Hartford, son of the late Luigi and Maria Pirro, he resided in Bristol and West Hartford, moving to Avon 53 years ago. Mr. Pirro was a communicant of St. Ann Church, Avon. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Rev. Edward Shaughnessey Council No. 3884 and was a veteran of World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Veeder Root.

He is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen A. Pirro of Sun City, AZ, David A. Pirro of Simsbury and Michael A. and Susan Pirro of Simsbury; seven grandchildren, Karen Pirro of Bristol, Brian Pirro of East Hartland, Mark Pirro and his wife, Kacey of Colchester, Jeffrey Pirro and his wife Laura of Granby, Kimberly Robinson and her husband, Ben of Wethersfield, Jennifer Pirro and her husband Michael Mulhall of Canton, and Jonathan Pirro and his wife Erin of Granby; 11 great grandchildren, Stephen, Sean and Emmanuel Kapros of Bristol, Jameson and Chelsea Pirro of Colchester, Dominick and Lydia Pirro of Granby, Andrea and Lisa Robinson of Wethersfield, and Anthony and Abigail Mullhall of Canton, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Thomas, John, and Joseph and a sister, Ann.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 10 am, directly at the Church of Saint Ann, 289 Arch Rd., Avon. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Avon. His family will receive friends Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 6-8 pm at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
