
Elizabeth G. Madden, 92, of Avon, beloved widow of Edward F. Madden, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 5th, 2017.
Born in Boston, MA on November 10th, 1924, daughter of the late James A. and Helen (Morhardt) Mango, she resided in the West Hartford area most of her life. During her career, Betty was a reporter with Channel 30 News, was the owner of The Galleria at Bishops Corner in West Hartford and was an auxiliary volunteer nurse at Hartford Hospital where she cared for many during the Hartford circus fire. She was the oldest living member of Wampanoag Country Club in West Hartford.
Betty is survived by her three sons, Mark (with wife Tyler, and daughters Megan and Erin), Peter (with wife Mimi, and daughter Brett and son Max), and Christopher (with daughters Christina, Jennifer, Alexandra and son Jonathan). She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Carter and Harper Bristol, Keegan Viering and Nico Kelly.

Funeral Services will be held Monday (Nov. 13) at 11:00am in The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Connecticut Chapter, 659 Tower Ave., First Floor, Hartford, CT 06112.
