Louise Amelia (Toth) Gallinoto, 80, of Avon, passed away on November 21, 2016 after a battle with liver cancer.
She was born on September 13, 1936 on Long Island and spent her childhood in New York and Hartford. At age 7, she was a survivor of the Hartford Circus Fire, along with her mother, Louise, and brother, Albert. Her sisters, Regina and Joan, were lost in the fire. Her younger sister, Kathleen, was not yet born.
Her first "real job" was with the Underwood Typewriter Company and after marrying Michael Gallinoto, she worked with the family businesses of Imperial Upholstery and Gallinoto's Italian Kitchen. In the 1990s, she opened her own gift shop, The Clutterbug, in Pine Meadow, where she made many friends and became "Mom" to many avid Beanie Baby collectors. In her later years, she enjoyed quiet and peaceful moments in her garden in Whispering Pines. She also deeply loved her volunteer work at Avon Health Center, before she herself became a hospice resident there.
