
Margaret A. (Brondi) Maynard, 93, of Avon, beloved wife for 72 years to Charles E. Maynard, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018.
Born in Bristol, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Maro) Brondi, she was raised there and graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY with a Major in Dress Design. She and her husband Charlie started Maynard’s Bridal Shops in Bristol and Avon in 1970 which they operated together until their retirement in 2012.
She lived in Avon over 38 years and she was an active communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church Unionville. She served on the Scholarship Committee of the Prince Thomas of Savoy Women’s Auxiliary in Avon. Margaret enjoyed sewing and cooking, especially her families’ Italian recipes and traveling to Italy and Bermuda.

Besides her husband Charlie, she leaves a son Gary C. Maynard and his wife Marilyn of Wallingford; a daughter Charlene A. Bleakley of Marina del Rey, CA; three grandchildren Mark, Michael, and Catherine Maynard; and four great grandchildren Lincoln, Arielle, Hailey, and Grace. She was predeceased by her son Timothy Maynard.
Her family will receive friends Monday, March 5, 2018, from 5-8 pm at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. Family and friends may gather Tuesday, March 6, 2018, 9 am at Carmon’s in Avon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Mary Star of the Sea, Church, 145 Main Street, Unionville. Burial will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
