Avon Obituary: Veronica Bellus, 96

Veronica (Novak) Bellus, 96, of Avon and formerly of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Charles A. Bellus, passed away, Saturday, October 7, 2017.

Born in Cleveland, OH, daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Fabjan) Novak; she lived in Chicago, IL for many years before moving to CT with her husband over 60 years ago. She was a fun loving woman with a dry wit who loved to cook, garden (a member of the Tunxis Garden Club) and care for her family.

She leaves her daughter Cheryl B. Barnum of Avon; her son Charles A. Bellus, Jr. of O’Brien, OR; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and cherished nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her son-in-law Mel Barnum, daughter-in-law Dawna Bellus, brothers Martin and Edward Novak, and her sister Catherine Perion.

Veronica’s family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers at the Avon Health Center for providing excellent support over recent years.

A private funeral service will be held Friday, October 13, 2017, 9:30 am at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
